Designing for zero training on the shop floor

Software that requires a training session has already lost. That sounds harsh, but it's the standard we hold ourselves to for shop floor work.

The screen on the floor needs to answer one question: what do I do next? Every other piece of information is a distraction. So we strip it back. We keep the next task large, with the expected duration, the materials needed and a single primary action. Everything else is a tap away and out of the way. It looks almost too simple, and that's on purpose.
